Microsoft Azure Machine Learning

One of the key elements of our solution is Microsoft Azure’s Machine Learning. As each athlete is different, Machine Learning is leveraged to establish a baseline against which everything else will be compared to. For everyone interested in Machine Learning on Microsoft Azure, please check out: eBook – Microsoft Azure Essentials: Azure Machine Learning This ebook will present an overview of modern data science theory and principles, the associated workflow, and then cover some of the more common machine learning algorithms in use today. We will build a variety of predictive analytics models using real world data, evaluate several different machine learning algorithms and modeling strategies, and then deploy the finished models as machine learning web service on Azure within a matter of minutes. The book will also expand on a working Azure Machine Learning predictive model example to explore the types of client and server applications you can create

Azure Stream Analytics

Microsoft announces General Availability of Azure Stream Analytics

9 years ago 0

Good news indeed. Today, Microsoft announced that Azure Stream Analytics “generally available”. No longer in BETA, general availability pricing will be in effect on June 1, 2015. For those who don’t know, Azure Stream Analytics is a real-time stream processing engine in the cloud that helps uncover insights from devices, sensors, infrastructure, and applications. Developers describe their desired event stream processing and transformations in an SQL-like query language, and the system abstracts the complexities of the parallelization, distributed computing, and error handling. Temporal semantics are built in. Some new capabilities include support for automatically refreshing reference data, improved job diagnostics, and the ability to create new Azure Services for inputs and outputs within the context of your Stream Analytics job. These enhancements help one achieve a lower cost real-time streaming processing solution in the cloud. Without giving away too much of our secret sauce, what we are interested the most

Machine Learning plays a very big role for us. Once the data is collected via sensors from the human body, it’s collected in the cloud. There, machine learning must identify a baseline for each athlete and compare subsequent swings / pitches / throws / strokes to this particular baseline. The system must learn and adapt, be intelligent. Our R&D team in Romania is looking into Windows Azure as the platform of choice for the Machine Learning. If you want to find out more about Machine Learning and R on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, you can download a free eBook: Data Science in the Cloud with Microsoft Azure Machine Learning and R

Microsoft announces Azure IoT Suite

At Microsoft Convergence 2015 in Atlanta, Microsoft officially announced the Azure IoT Suite. From Microsoft’s official announcement: More and more, we’re seeing the Internet of Things (IoT) become part of the fabric of business, helping converge an organization’s assets, data and processes with people and business systems. Today, this intersection is allowing enterprises to uncover new opportunities, create new business models and transform their operations – from elevators, to particle accelerators and washing machines – to become truly digital businesses. Microsoft’s vision is to help companies thrive in this era of IoT, delivering open, scalable platforms and services that any company, whether startup or the most established global enterprises, can use to create new value, right now. Nadella mentioned our investments in the Windows 10 IoT operating system for devices, and equally with the Azure IoT Suite, we’re bringing together a variety of Azure services to help our customers accelerate

Microsoft Azure and the Internet of Things

9 years ago 1

Have you read the latest whitepaper from Microsoft related to the internet of things?  Titled Creating the Internet of Your Things, this writeup starts up with “the Internet of Things has kept plenty of technology journalists busy during the past year, but few have answered the most important questions of how to make it relevant to your business today. Instead, it often seems overwhelming, complicated, and expensive.” Like every other promotional whitepaper from a company like Microsoft, you get to read about the company’s point of view on IoT, and here is where we agree with Microsoft 100%: “The real value lies in the data that is transmitted from those devices, and the compelling business insights this data can enable. These connected “things” are producing large amounts of information. By tapping into those data streams and connecting them to the cloud and back-end systems, organizations can optimize business processes, make
